Smart Solar Tracker
The Smart Solar Tracker is an innovative project of the AKETH PIRATES team, which was presented at the 4th Panhellenic Generation Next Competition, receiving very positive comments for its innovation and usability. It is a smart photovoltaic system that automatically orients itself in the direction of the sun, achieving maximum absorption of solar radiation and increasing energy efficiency by up to 45% compared to fixed panels. The project integrates technologies such as light sensors, microcontrollers and Internet of Things (IoT), offering the possibility of remote monitoring and malfunction detection.
With this solution, the team proposes a sustainable and efficient way to harness solar energy, helping to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and shift towards renewable energy sources - particularly critical for a country with high levels of sunshine like Greece. The Smart Solar Tracker is not only a technological achievement, but also a powerful tool for environmental awareness and education on the principles of sustainable development.
